Summer Reading 2021

While this year’s Summer Reading Program will look a little different this year, we are excited to begin our annual Battle for the Library! In the Land of Libraria, you are a member of one of three powerful houses competing to rule Libraria. Can you help conquer Libraria’s five provinces by earning points and make your House the Rulers of Libraria?

Virtual Programming

Each week there are opportunities for teens to participate in virtual program events. Some weeks will feature an online program on our designated Teen Discord server to where teens participate with the group via voice or text chat (the link will be sent after registration). Or teens are invited to tune in to Facebook Live (available every week) to participate. The video recording of the Facebook Live session will be available to watch afterwards.

Take Home Packets

Beginning on the Wednesday before each event, teens will be able to pick up a packet containing all the information and most supplies needed to complete each week’s program. You can pick your packet at either of our Library locations in person or via Curbside Service.

In-Person Programming

We are excited to offer some in-person, outdoor events this summer! To ensure everyone’s safety, we ask that participants follow these guidelines while attending Library programs:

~ Wear a mask and maintain a six-foot distance from other participants. We will have extra masks available if needed.

Snacks/drinks provided at our in-person events will be in sealed, individual packages. Please wash or sanitize your hands before and after and maintain social distancing if removing your mask to eat/drink.

Wash or sanitize your hands before and after handling program supplies provided during event.

Hand sanitizer will be available at every in-person event and Library bathrooms will be open to allow for hand washing.

Reading Logs and Book Reviews

Of course, the biggest part of summer reading is the actual reading! Participants can register for our summer reading challenge by going to wclibrarytn.beanstack.org OR by picking up a reading logs/book review forms from our Jonesborough or Gray location beginning May 24th!
